When Dr. Paige Evans founded Clarity Veterinary Specialists, it was not because she was looking for an easy change. It was because her life, her family, and the needs of local pet owners were all pointing in the same direction: the greater Daytona area needed more access to advanced specialty veterinary care.
For years, Dr. Evans was a loyal and dedicated member of the veterinary community in Melbourne, Florida. Leaving that team was a difficult decision. She cared deeply about her colleagues, her clients, and the patients she served there.
But over time, the drive became harder to manage. Her elderly parents needed more support. Her young stepchildren needed time and presence at home. The commute to Melbourne kept getting longer, and the balance between family and work became harder to sustain.
At the same time, Dr. Evans saw a major gap closer to home. Pet-owning families in the Daytona area often had limited local access to specialty veterinary services, especially veterinary ophthalmology and oncology. For pets with eye disease, cancer, cataracts, glaucoma, or urgent specialty needs, distance can make an already stressful situation even harder.
That is why Clarity Veterinary Specialists was created.
Clarity Veterinary Specialists was built to provide advanced medicine, clear answers, and compassionate specialty care for pets and families in Central Florida. The hospital focuses on board-certified veterinary ophthalmology and oncology, including advanced eye care, dog cataract surgery, glaucoma management, corneal disease, cancer diagnosis, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapies, and palliative care.
For Dr. Evans, this mission is personal. As a board-certified veterinary ophthalmologist and Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists, she specializes in complex pet eye diseases, ocular emergencies, visual impairments, corneal surgery, intraocular surgery, feline ophthalmology, glaucoma, corneal ulcers, and traumatic eye injuries.
Her goal is simple: help pets stay comfortable, protect vision whenever possible, and give families a clearer understanding of what is happening and what can be done.
When a pet is facing a serious eye condition or cancer diagnosis, families need more than medical expertise. They need someone to slow down, explain the options, and help them make confident decisions.
That is why the name Clarity matters.
Clarity means clear diagnosis. Clear communication. Clear treatment planning. It means families should not feel lost when their pet needs specialty care. It also means referring veterinarians should feel supported with prompt communication, collaborative planning, and respect for the doctor-client-patient relationship.
Specialty veterinary medicine can feel overwhelming, especially when a pet suddenly cannot see, develops a painful eye problem, or receives a cancer diagnosis. Our role is to make the next step easier to understand.
Starting a new veterinary specialty practice was not just a career move for Dr. Evans. It was a family decision and a community decision.
Her parents needed her closer. Her stepchildren needed more of her time. And local pets needed specialty care closer to Daytona, Port Orange, Ormond Beach, New Smyrna Beach, DeLand, Palm Coast, and the surrounding Central Florida communities.
Opening Clarity Veterinary Specialists allowed those needs to come together.
It gave Dr. Evans the opportunity to remain committed to the highest standard of veterinary medicine while also being more present for her family. Just as importantly, it created a way to serve pet owners who previously may have had to travel farther for veterinary ophthalmology or oncology care.
Clarity Veterinary Specialists was designed to be a partner, not a replacement for a family veterinarian.
Primary care veterinarians are essential to each pet’s lifelong health. When a pet needs advanced eye care or cancer care, our goal is to work alongside that trusted veterinary team. We provide specialty diagnostics, treatment options, and communication that help everyone stay aligned.
Whether a dog needs cataract surgery, a cat has a painful eye condition, or a family is navigating cancer treatment options, we want pet owners to feel informed and supported from the first conversation.
